The “golden age of America” continues under the reign of the 47th president. Prices continue to rise in recent weeks along with the unemployment rate. Thousands of federal government workers have been added to the ranks.

How many workers has the self-anointed captain of efficiency, better known as Elon Musk, served up with a letter/email of termination? And yet, we have not been given any firm and confirmed numbers of actual savings that have resulted from these indiscriminate firings.

I wonder if the savings will offset the millions the president has spent on his golf trips? Donald Trump has golfed every weekend since taking office on Jan. 20 and played golf at his own properties on nine of his first 30 days in office.

A 2019 report from the Government Accountability Office broke down the cost of just four of Trump’s trips to Mar-a-Lago in 2017. That report said federal agencies spent more than $13.6 million for the golf trips, more than $3 million per trip.

Trump is on pace to spend well over $100 million golfing in 2025. HuffPost reported that he spent an estimated $152 million, golfing 293 days at his own resorts, during his first term. Wonder if he’ll break that record this term? Any bets?

Now personally, I would rather my tax dollars were spent on government services, educating our children, healthcare for our elderly, infrastructure building and national parks, rather than golf trips to Mar-a-Lago.

And when will the “day one” savings the 47th president promised us kick in for the working men and women of America? Many grocery prices continue to rise along with the price of oil and gas. Anyone priced eggs lately?

I know Trump has a bad habit of blaming Joe Biden, Bill Clinton, women, gays, trans, DEI, immigrants, Democrats, or any one else he can think of for high prices, but hey, he’s had well over a month on the job. Guess he’s been too busy golfing and signing executive orders to keep his promises.
