In the United States, citizens are the guardians of democracy. We elect representatives to do the government’s business, and report back to us so we can make informed decisions in the voting booth.
I do not believe Sen. Susan Collins is providing “We the People” with necessary data to make informed decisions.
As chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Collins is charged with deciding how much funding each authorized federal government agency and program receives. In other words, Collins plays a direct role in deciding which agencies receive our taxpayer dollars, and how many of these dollars they receive.
Without verifying how many billions of dollars Elon Musk has saved us, how can she accurately disburse taxpayer dollars?
We the people must demand that Collins verify what Musk is doing. Failure to do so removes the guard rails of our democracy.
