I would rather have Donald Trump’s fans than Joe Biden’s fans. I am deeply disappointed in the left-leaning media coverage following last week’s presidential debate. They seem to love zeroing in on and magnifying all the weakest points of Biden’s performance. His voice was weak, but grew stronger as he went. He did stumble at times and looked confused at times. But he also had a cold and was fielding the  fast and relentless lies and accusations and jibberish coming from his opponent. Anyone would wonder where to start when combatting that and look a little lost while thinking.

At least he did respond to many of Trump’s lies and he answered the moderator’s questions. Trump refused to answer many important questions and instead was like a Chatty Cathy doll where you pull a string in its back and get one of four random answers.

What happens when Trump is at his worst? His fans double down, send him money and his poll numbers increase. What happens when Biden stumbles? He gets skewered and out come  calls from his own party for him to step down.

Never mind that our post-pandemic economic recovery is one of the strongest and in fact lifting the global recovery as well. Never mind that more people are at work than most other points in American history or that our infrastructure is being rebuilt, our rights protected, health insurance, Medicare and Social Security protected, our very democracy protected. None of that will happen if the other guy wins.

Folks we’ve got to get it together and not be fair-weather fans. Vote like your life depends on it, or I think you may never vote again.
