I was horrified by the barrage of lies made by Donald Trump at the recent debate. He forcefully communicated his views but most of his claims were boldface lies. How can the Republican Party tolerate a leader who lies about the rioters on Jan. 6 beating up the Capitol Police, breaking down the doors and windows of the Capitol building all because he lost the election and wanted to prevent Congress from completing the presidential election process? He lied.

I have been an ordained minister for over 50 years and I question any person who believes in the Christian or Hebrew Scriptures wanting such a bold faced liar as their president. He said that he offered House Speaker Nancy Pelosi 10,000 soldiers or National Guard and she turned them down. He lies.

Trump claimed that President Joe Biden “wants to raise your taxes by four times.” It is a lie, President Biden wants to raise taxes only on those earning more than $400,000.

Trump said that during his four years, he had the best environmental numbers ever and that he supports “immaculate” air and water. The fact is that during his presidency, he rolled back provisions of the Clean Water Act, eased regulations on coal, oil, and gas companies. He denied scientists’ warnings about climate change and continues to deny its reality. He lies.

I would think Republicans wouldn’t want a president who constantly lies about his record, about the civil verdict finding he sexually abused a woman, and about having an affair with a porn star. He lies.
