I’ve known Scott Cuddy for his entire life, because I’m his mom. I could not be more proud of the man he has become.
He has always been there for his two children, now in their teens. He taught them to listen, to value the opinions of others and to think for themselves. He also taught them to move and stack a lot of firewood!
As a young man after college, he worked hard with jobs in landscaping, building decks, and later doing the electrical work including overnight at paper mills — I recall that one early job was to build a water tower in Brewer. (He did have some help!)
He was interested in helping people from a young age. He was the president of the community service club, Key Club, at Hampden Academy. He’s carried that spirit of community service throughout his life. Scott believes that the government can and should help people.
My work in Bangor over two decades for Sen. Bill Cohen and later for Sen. Susan Collins gave me an appreciation for the importance of work for constituents; Scott saw this firsthand. He understands how our government works. During his prior service in the Legislature I saw him many evenings responding to calls and letters from his constituents, with concrete and helpful advice. He is kind and non-judgmental, and knows that every citizen counts.
