You may ask how we got here so quickly. I believe this was always going to happen.
It has been in the works for decades. It has its roots in the 1980s, when Ronald Reagan deregulated healthcare, paving the way for a for-profit insurance system and placing healthcare out of the reach of too many.
You can see it in the early 2000s, when George W. Bush signed No Child Left Behind, ensuring the federal government dictated what was taught in public schools, resulting in an education system that has largely failed us.
In 2008, when banks were too big to fail, middle-class Americans lost out and we began to lose our middle class.
I think this was always going to happen because a poor, sick, ignorant population is easy to manipulate.
