With the official Maine early voting date upon us, I’m writing this in support of Rep. Reagan Paul’s re-election to represent Maine House District 37. As a freshman legislator, Reagan quickly learned the process in Augusta and was diligent in getting involved in issues and bills affecting her constituents. While she worked on bills which came before several committees, she served on the Energy, Utilities, and Technology Committee, where she supported and sponsored bills designed to reduce the cost of electricity Maine ratepayers are now seeing. Her opponent has done just the opposite, supporting several bills that are adding costs to ratepayers while serving on the same committee in the 129th and supporting others the last two years.
As you decide how to vote this year, I’d ask that you consider what has happened to your energy costs during the last six years. Take a look at your own electric bills. Ask your employer how they’ve been affected. Are they concerned about the future as costs continue to rise due to bills already passed by the majority party in Augusta?
Please send Reagan Paul back to Augusta to help us turn the tide on ratepayer costs and the many other issues Mainers now face. I know she will continue to fight hard to return Maine to “the way life should be.”
Rep. Steve Foster
House minority lead member
Energy, Utilities and Technology Committee
